Langkawi Season

Langkawi is a perennial island in the sun, blessed with an equatorial climate with warm, humid temperatures throughout the year, ranging from 22°C (72°F) at night to 33°C (92°F) during the day. Typically, more rains falls in September and October, but even during the rainy season on the northwest coast, it is often little more than the occasional short tropical downpour.

As Langkawi is located near the equator the place experiences a tropical type of climate similar to those that prevails in the equatorial areas. Areas those come under the spell of this type of weather are affected by monsoons that brings occasional showers. Some of these showers are often accompanied by thunderstorms. Very rarely but quiet possible such monsoon rains can cause extensive flooding thereby causing havoc to life and property.

Rainy Season In Langkawi
The long dry spell of summers comes to an end with the approach of the rainy season. Although brief spells of showers occurs in Langkawi all the year round, rainy season in its truest sense occurs in the months of August and September .Langkawi receives an annual rainfall of about 2,500 millimeters. Rainfall are generally accompanied by thunder and lightning. Heavy downpours generally last for an hour or two. Though the Europeans prefer to visit the landing the summers, the Arabs prefer to be on the island in the wet period. During this time the island remains quieter.
Best Time To Visit Langkawi
Langkawi welcomes you all the year around. As such no time is bad for a visit to the archipelago of Langkawi. But the best time to be there is from November to March. October is a nice place to visit the island. The sea remains calm. Tourists, thus, can have a festive time enjoying the side scenes and participating the water sports.
